Jokowi's Blusukan

Image
Jokowi's Blusukan Jokowi, Indonesia's president as of 2017, can be considered as a traveler. Jokowi has experience a lot of travelling through his presidential years. He donated and helped the society to be better by doing "blusukan". He travelled to a lot of cities and villages around Indonesia to give benefits to the people living in that area. “Blusukan” comes from the main word “Blusuk”. "Blusuk" means entry ( come in ) in Javanese language.  If the word “Blusuk“ is positioned as a noun, the word will get suffix "-an”, which will then turn the word "Blusuk" into “Blusukan”. "Blusukan" is a term used to describe an activity entered onto a place then out again, and in again. However "blusukan" is a specific activity done in places that aren't considered a luxurious place. We can’t use the term “blusukan“  for activities done in places that are considered luxurious because more precisely, “ blusukan” is defined...

We can’t use the term “blusukan“  for activities done in places that are considered luxurious because more precisely, “ blusukan” is defined as an activity out into places that are rarely passed or visited by people. Our president uses the term “blusukan“ when he went to a place or visited a place and he gave benefits to that place . The first example is when president Jokowi gave out the "Kartu indonesia Sehat" ( KIS ) to 82 million people. The second example is After perf...

Changes in the Government

Image
Changes in the Government Three years ago, Jokowi was elected as Indonesia’s President, which made him the first leader elected that is not part of the country’s political and military elite. Because of his reputation for consulting with the poor before making policy decisions, he became Indonesia’s hope to help build a prosperous and tolerant country. But, Jokowi became president at a time when Indonesia’s economy was struggling to overcome weak demand for its natural resources, the rise of the Islamic State (ISIS) inspired radical Sunni Muslims worldwide, and annual forest fires demonstrated the challenge of forest protection. It became more complicated because Prabowo threatened to maintain a coalition of political parties that would actively oppose the President’s political agenda. Jokowi’s first year as president was tough. But Jokowi began learning more and was able to overcome the challenges as time passed by. He achieved a lot after 2 years since Jokowi was elected a...

Jokowi’s Cabinet-Working Cabinet On 15 September, Jokowi stated that his cabinet would have 34 members, with 18 coming from professional backgrounds and 16 from political parties in his coalition. The cabinet was supposed to be announced on Wednesday 22 October, and a stage has been prepared at Jakarta Tanjung Priok harbour, but this event was cancelled at the last minute. The delays were caused by the decision of Joko Widodo to wait for comments from the People’s Representative Council. Another reason for the delayed announcement was his decision to involve the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) to ensure that prospective ministers did not have poor track records with regards to human rights or corruption. The KPK stated that eight of the original candidates were "problematic" and that alternatives should be found. One candidate for the post of coordinating minister for security affa...
